Our award-winning luxury Rajasthan tour invites you to stay in some of the world’s most opulent hotels, all while soaking up the rich culture, heritage, colour and vibrancy of this region.
Carefully crafted based on accommodations, destinations and experiences that our past guests have loved, Indian Excursions offer you the opportunity to explore the splendid sights of Delhi, Agra and Rajasthan by day, retiring to its most unashamedly luxurious palaces by night. Combine these fabulous hotels with our experienced guides, professional drivers and fine attention to detail; the result is a seamless and unforgettable holiday of a lifetime through one of the most colourful corners of the world. It’s easy to see why this is our most popular luxury Rajasthan tour, though with all our journeys being tailor-made, it’s merely a suggestion designed to give you an idea of what’s possible. We’ll plan every detail around your requirements.
If any, the rest of the day is at leisure to settle in and recuperate from your international journey. Depending on how early in the day you arrive, if you’d like to begin exploring this afternoon, you can let us know anytime. Your chauffeur is always on hand, and we’re only a quick call away on your complimentary mobile phone (or WhatsApp, if you prefer).
You’ll later be driven to Jodhpur for two nights at the spectacular Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace. Voted by TripAdvisor as their Best Hotel in the World for 2016, the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace is opulent enough to make even the most discerning of guests nod their approval. Fit for a king, the Maharaja of Jodhpur himself still lives here at the palace and can often be seen walking his dogs on the vast grounds. This evening, enjoy a guided walk through the palace, followed by a glass of sparkling wine at the bar, to imagine you’ve stepped back in time. Alternatively, stay at the characterful RAAS hotel in Jodhpur – another of our favourites. Those who prefer a central location and immersing themselves in the city will be happier at RAAS. In contrast, those who value history, space and grandeur will prefer the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace. If you’d like to break up the drive to Jodhpur into two shorter chunks, we recommend a night or two en-route at Dev Shree, Deogarh. This stunning rural retreat is a fabulous place to steer off the beaten track while retaining comfort and style. Another great option is RAAS Chhatra Sagar.
Optionally, rather than retrace your steps back to Delhi, you may prefer to end your luxury Rajasthan tour in Mumbai with a two-night stay at the famed Taj Mahal Palace, The Oberoi, or The Leela Mumbai. (Here’s how we recommend you spend 72 hours in Mumbai). The possibilities don’t end there. Those with a keen interest in colonial history may like to extend their journey with a stay at The Oberoi Grand in Kolkata (here we have a fabulous sample itinerary). Or further explore the state of Rajasthan with a jaunt to the desert city of Jaisalmer (in which case, do check out our Ultimate Luxury India Tour). For inspiration, we recommend taking a look through our Insider’s Guide to Oberoi Hotels in India. You might also enjoy 25 of our favourite luxury experiences in Rajasthan. All our tours are private and tailor-made to complement your taste and interests. In essence, the itinerary described above is just a starting point, and together we can refine it into your ideal Indian experience.
