Our luxury India with Aman tour introduces you to many different facets of India while staying in some of her finest properties. This sophisticatedjourney kicks off with a two-night stay at The Lodhi, in the capital city of Delhi. The Lodhi is no longer an Aman property. Still, it has retained its low-key luxury and Aman vibe, pairing perfectly with the other two Aman hotels in India (Aman-i-Khas and Amanbagh) and making it the ideal starting point for our luxury India with Aman experience. While in the capital, your experienced guide will introduce you to the contrasts of both Old and New Delhi; from its souk-like bazaars in Chandni Chowk to the colonial tree-lined avenues of Lutyens.
We then board the train to Ranthambhore National Park, a former hunting ground of the Maharaja of Jaipur and now one of the best places in the world to spot wild Bengal tigers in their natural habitat. Aman-i-Khas is a stunning safari lodge, and each luxury tent comes with a butler. Our experienced and passionate naturalist guides will accompany you into the jungle on the trail of the tiger. Between-hand, enjoy your surroundings at Aman-i-Khas.
Your luxury India with Aman journey ends on a relaxed note, at the super-sophisticated Amanbagh in rural Rajasthan. This opulent gem of a resort is off the beaten track near the small village of Ajabgarh, nestled within the Aravalli hills. Amanbagh is a gorgeous place to relax, surrounded by the Aravalli hills and dotted with lush palm trees. If you’re feeling active, there are many excursions to embark on; from a sunrise yoga session at the abandoned local temple to meeting local villagers on Amanbagh’s signature ‘Cow Dust Tour’. Amanbagh is also ideal for those who’re interested in dipping their toes into wellness and Ayurveda, offering Ayurvedic treatments and consultations with their resident Ayurvedic doctor.
Luxurious yet understated is the very essence of Aman hotels in India, and the perfect contrast to the whirlwind of experiences you’ll have while exploring Delhi, Ranthambhore and Ajabgarh.
Day 1
Arrive in Delhi (stay at The Lodhi, Delhi)
Your luxury
India with Aman tour kicks off upon your arrival in Delhi. A member of our team will be waiting to welcome you at the airport, and accompany you to
The Lodhi for a two-night stay. While no longer an Aman hotel, it is arguably the finest in New Delhi and nestled in a busy but green area of the capital, close to the Lodhi Gardens of which it takes its name. The atmosphere here is calm and hushed; the décor is sleek and minimal. Rooms are huge and come with a private plunge pool.
The rest of the day, if any, is at leisure to settle in, and recuperate from your international journey. Depending on how early in the day you arrive, if you’d like to begin exploring this afternoon, you can let us know anytime. Your chauffeur is always on hand, and we’re only a quick call away on your complimentary mobile phone (or WhatsApp, if you prefer).
You can explore The Lodhi in more detail by clicking here. If it’s not your cup of tea, do check out our Top 10 Hotels in Delhi.
Day 2
In Delhi
A guided tour of both Old and New Delhi today will introduce you to the Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Parliament House, Humayun’s Tomb and the Sikh temple.
The itinerary we’ve prepared in advance is a guideline and is completely flexible to your preferences on the day. You may let your guide know your interests, and he will tailor the day to suit better your tastes. We’re known for our flexible approach, allowing you complete control over the pace of your trip. After exploring the bustling capital, you’ll return to The Lodhi in the evening where we recommend dining at their award-winning
Indian Accent restaurant. However, your chauffeur is always on hand should you prefer a meal out (
Bukhara is a great option).
Day 3
Delhi to Ranthambhore (stay at Aman-i-Khas, Ranthambhore)
Today, accompanied by an Aman Batman, you’ll board the train to Ranthambhore in Rajasthan, for a three-night stay beside the jungle.
The journey is driveable, should you prefer. We can also arrange helicopter travel or a private charter. When you arrive in Ranthambhore this evening, you’ll be assisted with checking in to
Aman-i-Khas for a three-night stay. This super chic camp is nestled on the edge of Ranthambhore National Park, surrounded by the Aravalli hills. Each of the ten luxury tents offers generous space (over 1,100 sq ft), luxe Mughal-inspired interiors, and your very own private butler. The central fire-pit is ideal for getting together with other guests in the evenings, for discussing park sightings over sundowners. Our favourite Aman hotel in India and one of our
top 3 luxury tents in Ranthambhore National Park, Aman-i-Khas is luxury camping at its best and affords an authentic Indian safari experience.
Days 4 + 5
In Ranthambhore
Rise early this morning, and you’ll be met by your private Jeep, to head off into Ranthambhore National Park on a morning safari. The park’s most famous resident is the majestic Bengal tiger, but it’s also home to leopard, peacock, numerous species of deer, crocodiles, sloth bear and much more. After the morning safari, you’ll return to Aman-i-Khas for breakfast and a few hours at leisure where you can indulge in a 60-minute full-body massage for two with our compliments. Or, if you’re feeling active, explore the 10th-century Ranthambhore Fort for a spectacular birds-eye view of the jungle. It’s within the park, and its crumbling chhatris and ancient temples provide a magical backdrop to the reserve, evoking a Jungle Book vibe. In the afternoon, you’ll head back into the park for a second Jeep safari, to observe the jungle in a different light.
Day 6
Ranthambhore to Ajabgarh (stay at Amanbagh, Ajabgarh)
Day six of your luxury
India with Aman journey steers you off the beaten track to Ajabgarh, for a relaxing three-night stay at Amanbagh. Stop en-route for a privately guided tour of the impressive Chand Baori stepwell (one of the largest and oldest in India). Nestled on the outskirts of Jaipur and one of our
favourite hideaways in rural Rajasthan,
Amanbagh is a whisper-quiet Aman retreat, whose name translates to the
peaceful garden. Shaded courtyards, rose-tinted walls and regal cupolas evoke the majesty of the Mughal era and will leave you feeling like a modern-day Maharaja and Maharani. The suites at Amanbagh are spacious and extremely comfortable, offering either a private garden or courtyard. Here you’ll be upgraded to the next category with our compliments.
Days 7 + 8
In Ajabgarh
The next two days are at leisure to enjoy your surroundings at Amanbagh. The central swimming pool is ideal for relaxing and unwinding, as is the spa and library. If you’re feeling active and would like to explore rural life in Rajasthan, we recommend Amanbagh’s signature Sunset Cow Dust Tour. This experience whisks you through the village in an open-top Jeep: smiling children play in the streets, and farmers herd their cows, goats and buffalo. In the mornings, the spooky spectacle of Bhangarh makes for a fascinating excursion. To end your luxury India with Aman journey on a special note, we recommend a private candlelit dinner in the ruins of the nearby old chhatri (a domed pavilion, as pictured in the main image at the top of this page).
Day 9
Depart from Delhi
Today you’ll be driven back to Delhi airport in time for your onward flight. Depending on the time of your departure, you might need an additional night in Delhi (the perfect excuse to enjoy a return to
The Lodhi…!). We’ll fine-tune this part together to best suit your arrangements.
